BlueBet previews the BBL07 Round 9 action below. Read on for our best betting tips per game and an overview of the feature games this round.

When: 20th Jan 2018, 6:10pm (AEDT) The Melbourne Stars horror season continued last game as the Sixers smashed them at the MCG. The worrying sign is the Stars have lost all three games at home. They’re 1-6 and comfortably sit at the bottom of the ladder.

At 3-5, the Thunder need to win this match for a slim chance at making the finals. They also lost agianst the Sixers last game and have a 1-3 record in their last 4 games. However, their opening pair between Khawaja and Vince will be hard to stop in the latter stages of the Big Bash. They also have a number of spin options to trouble the Stars batsman.

In the history of the Big Bash, the Thunder are 4-3 against the Stars. In the last 3 meetings, the Thunder have won all three, including the last two at the MCG.

Maxwell is currently the top run scorer for the Stars with 214 runs in 7 innings. He’s arguably the safest bet in the Stars lineup at the moment. Dunk has been a woeful pickup as he’s scored 66 runs in 7 innings. Wright has also failed this season. Pietersen has batted well at the MCG this season, however the Thunder will likely shut him down with spin. So Maxwell is the best bet. The top runscorer for the Thunder will likely be between Khawaja and Watson. Khawaja smashed 80 odd in his first match and did fail against the Sixers last time out. But Khawaja has the potential to score a hundred and we’ll be backing him here. He’s also top scored in the last two matches at the MCG against the Stars. Watson has scored 260 runs in 8 innings. However, he’s been quiet in his last few knocks. Thunder WIN ($1.82) When: 20th Jan 2018, 9:20pm (AEDT) The Perth Scorchers are back from the bye and will be looking to lock in a home final with a win here. They thrashed the Strikers last match and get their skipper back from suspension. Shaun Marsh is also back and will strengthen the batting lineup.

Hobart’s winning streak is over after they were easily beaten by the Strikers on Wednesday. Their bowlers couldn’t break through and the fielding effort was terrible. So they’ll need to show major improvement against a strong Scorchers team.

The Scorchers are 5-2 against the Hurricanes in BBL history. They actually haven’t met at the WACA since 2014 and the Scorchers are 2-0 at home against them.

With Marsh back, the Scorchers have a formidable batting lineup. If he can recapture his test form, Marsh is a great bet to top score. He averages 47 in the Big Bash and should enjoy facing the Hurricanes lineup. Klinger has been quiet in his last 4 innings so we would steer clear. Another good choice would be Cartwright. He’s been not out in his last 2 innings with 112 runs. Short is into $2.87 and he’s coming off 28 runs against the Strikers. So it’s liking going to be tough against the likes of Johnson with the new ball. The same goes for Doolan. McDermott is striking them well with 45 and 32 in his last 2 innings. He’s good value at $5 as the Hurricanes top run scorer.Melbourne Stars v Sydney Thunder

The key in this matchup is the Thunder spin options against the Stars batsman. Nathan Lyon tore the Stars lineup apart last game and we can see a similar result by Ahmed, Green and Nair. They also have a strong batting lineup and have won the last 3 against the Stars. Back the Thunder.
