What is betr tote?
betr tote is our tote betting product. It settles on the TAB national pool dividend. On eligible races, we also pay an extra 5% on your winnings.
Why has the tote product changed?
On Friday 2 October, TAB merged its three state-based pools (NSW TAB, SuperTAB and UniTAB) into One Pool, a single national pool covering all Australian states and territories. betr tote now settles on that single national dividend.
Why does my dividend match what TAB paid?
There is now one national pool, so each race has one dividend. betr tote pays that dividend.
Which races get the extra 5%?
The extra 5% applies to Australian metropolitan thoroughbred meetings only. All other meetings and codes pay the TAB declared dividend. Each race page shows whether the extra 5% applies.
Is the extra 5% paid on my whole return?
No. The extra 5% is paid on your winnings only, not your stake. For example, a $10 bet with a $4.00 dividend returns $40.00. Your winnings are $30.00, so the extra 5% is $1.50, and your total return is $41.50.
Is Starting Price (SP) included with betr tote?
No, SP is not included on betr tote.
What if I want a guaranteed price?
Choose fixed odds instead of tote when you place your bet. Your price is locked in when the bet is accepted.
Will the extra 5% always be offered, or extended to other races?
betr tote is a new product and we review our offers regularly. Any changes will be shown on the relevant race pages and in our terms.
